If you are ill, or cannot attend due to significant personal circumstances on the day of an examination, you must notify the MBChB Programme Assessment Office immediately (see Contacts).
You must then complete a mitigating circumstances form and submit it along with suitable evidence (e.g. appointment slips, doctor’s letter or hospital note) on 1Med giving the reasons why you were unfit to sit the examination. This should be submitted as soon as possible but no later than five working days following the missed examination. If you are unable to submit evidence before the deadline, then submit the form by the deadline via 1Med, and forward the evidence to sms.mitcircs@manchester.ac.uk as soon as it is available. If your mitigating circumstances are accepted, you will take your assessment at the next resit opportunity.
Please note that in Y3-5, students who attend a CCA at one of our CECs will only be permitted to sit the exam if they are well enough to do so and meet local trust infection control policies.
