The MBChB at The University of Manchester uses a bespoke suite of software applications, known as 1Med, to support students on the Programme. 1Med provides, among other things, your personalised timetable, information about the Programme, your learning groups, access to learning content, and your Personal and Professional Development (PPD) Portfolio. 1Med also displays your personal profile and contact information.

1Med is a crucial communication tool where you can see the latest important notifications and updates about the Programme; including late and unavoidable changes to the timetable. Therefore, we expect all students to log onto 1Med daily.

1Med consists of a number of connected services, each with its own distinct purpose. Important 1Med menu items include, but are not limited to:

Homepage: Provides a summary of To-Do list items, notifications and useful information. You can also customise your homepage with quick links you use regularly.

1MedBuzz: For all non-Programme related events, information and communications.

Curriculum Mapping Tool: Helps you to connect and visualise the Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs) of the MBChB when used alongside other areas of 1Med, such as 1MedLearn.

1MedInfo: Contains information about the MBChB, including term and assessment dates.

1MedLearn: Hosts all Learning Content for the MBChB.

My Forms: Predominantly for Y3-5 of the programme; offers Logbook forms etc.

My Submissions: View your assessment forms, exam results and feedback forms.

PPD Portfolio: Collates your reflections throughout your time as an MBChB student.

Programme Handbook: Provides policy and procedure information, describing MBChB activities and how these are designed to be delivered.

1Med Timetable: Lists your teaching timetable and provides an iCal feed for your personal devices.

 How to access 1Med 

1Med can be accessed directly via https://www.1med.manchester.ac.uk/

Because 1Med is a personalised system (meaning that it contains personal information and automatically directs you to information most relevant to your current semester), you need to log on using your University of Manchester username and password.

At the beginning of your first year on the Manchester MBChB, you will be directed to information which shows you how to log on and use the system in a training session designed specifically for new students. You will also be able to get help with specific problems or queries about 1Med via the contact form available at the bottom of all 1Med pages or email the User Support team directly : onemed@manchester.ac.uk
