Students’ Union Advice Service

The Students’ Union Advice Service is located on the first floor of the Students’ Union Building (Steve Biko Building) on Oxford Road – ask at The Students’ Union Reception for directions, if needed.

The Advice Service offers a wide range of services for students including: Independent academic advice, up-to-date advice on state benefits, support for students submitting an appeal or complaint or undergoing disciplinary procedures, help and advice to arrange housing and in resolving problems with private housing, help with budgeting and the arrangement of short-term loans to students facing unexpected severe financial hardship, e.g. if your purse or wallet has been lost or stolen.

The Advice Service also offers a range of wellbeing advice on topics including sexual health, bullying and discrimination, and can also lend a friendly ear if you are feeling homesick or overwhelmed.
