Direct Entry into Year 3

Direct entry students are those students who enter directly into Year 3 of the MBChB Programme.

Graduates of St Andrews University

Graduates of the BSc Hons Medical Science at St Andrews University on the Manchester pathway join the MBChB at Manchester at the start of Year 3 and will complete Years 3, 4 and 5 of the Programme.

Whilst students are studying at St Andrews, representatives from The University of Manchester and the MBChB Programme at Manchester are in contact with students and provide information about the MBChB and the support available during transition and throughout the Programme.

Towards the end of your time at St Andrews, you will have been provided with information and practical advice on joining the MBChB as a direct entry student. There is a dedicated Transition Student Rep for St Andrews to assist with this (see: Student Reps).

International Medical University (IMU), Malaysia

Your transition to the Manchester MBChB Years 3-5 Programme will commence on completion of Phase 1 of the Medical Programme at the IMU, Malaysia. You will have been provided with information on joining the MBChB Programme as a direct entry student and will complete Years 3, 4 and 5 of the Programme.
