In Year 2 examinations, you will be tested on behavioural and social sciences, and biosciences: Anatomy, physiology, microbiology, pharmacology, biochemistry, pathology, immunology and genetics. All of the topics that you have studied in TBL cases and in practical classes (e.g. physiology, pharmacology, anatomy, consultation skills and evidence-based medicine) can appear in the examinations.

In Year 2 the assessments are:

• Semester Tests – knowledge-based examinations consisting of single best answer questions, based on the content in the specific semester.
• The Progress Test, which uses single best answer (1 of 5) questions to assess how your core knowledge is increasing, based on content from across the programme.
• Personal Excellence Pathways (PEP).
• Clinical Competency Assessment (CCA) to assess your clinical skills and knowledge from the parts of the programme that you have completed so far.

It is your responsibility to make yourself aware of the dates, times and details of examinations. Please do not book flights/expensive travel or return home until you know whether you have passed your assessments as the resit period takes place over the summer and you will be required to attend these and pass to progress to the next year of study.

Examination details will be posted on 1Med and will be sent to you by individual email to your University of Manchester student email account. No member of academic staff, the Programme office or the University Examinations Office will give any information about examinations over the telephone or by email, to anyone other than the student.
