Quick Guide to the Stopford Building

MBChB Programme Office

The MBChB Programme office reception and offices are located on the ground floor of the Stopford Building – proceed through the entry barriers and the reception desk is through the glass doors on your right. Meeting rooms (Dean’s Boardroom, Committee Room A and B) are situated in this part of the Stopford building.

Stopford Building Student Common Room

On the first floor of the Stopford Building there is a common room and vending machines for students. It is situated by lecture theatre 3.

Student Lockers

Lockers are available in the Stopford Building for students to use during Years 1, 2 and the GEM year. The lockers are situated on the ground floor, in the atrium outside G.057. To find them, go along the corridor by the lifts, turn left just past G.050 and through the double doors.

The lockers are for use on a daily basis and contents should be removed at the end of each day. A pound coin is required to use the lockers, but this is returned when the key is returned. Items can be left in lockers 109-128 overnight but must be removed each Friday by 5pm (no items should be left in lockers over the weekend).

All lockers will be cleared at the end of each semester. Items left in lockers at this time will be removed and thrown away.

If you have any problems finding the lockers, or lose your key, please go to the Medical School reception desk on the Ground Floor of Stopford Building (near the barriers) for help.

Stopford Prayer Room

A prayer room is available in the Stopford building (Room 3.400). It is a basic prayer room and there are no associated washing facilities.

Students wishing to use this facility should enquire at the Stopford main reception desk to acquire the code to enter the room.
